IOSH SHE for Construction Site Managers

Course Modules:
Module 1 - Local Law and Enforcement
Takes learners through local laws and regulations helping to understand how different lawful bodies operate.
Module 2 - Preparing for work
Provides a finer understanding of how to successfully prepare for work and how certain premeditated measures can improve productivity.
Module 3 - General Management of the site
This module instructs on how to competently operate in a management position on a construction site. The unit covers pivotal areas such as method statements and the use of permits to work.
Module 4 - The importance of managing environmental aspects and impacts related to construction projects
This unit dissects the benefits of sustainable working practices and how they can be integrated into your business, turning your business into a progressive environmentally friendly company.
Module 5 - Effective construction design and management
This unit enables learners to better their understanding of core principles surrounding construction design and the management they entail.
Module 6 - Understanding key issues and control of working at height
This modules covers the potential risks and problems that arise from working at heights, especially on roofs. It goes through the process of risk assessments and operating with scaffolds and fragile surfaces.
Module 7 - Requirements for the welfare of construction workers on site
Better understand whats required to successfully manage on the construction site whilst keeping health and safety in mind.
Examination:
Learners must complete both theory and practical assessment at the end of this course. The theory segment consists of an online multiple-choice test containing 25 questions. The delegates will have to score 21 or above to pass.
The practical assessment consists of a risk assessment assessing the risk of a hazard on their own site. The practical assessment must be completed within 2 weeks. This project will be marked using IOSH criteria and will have a maximum of 38 marks.
There are no explicit entry requirements to sit the IOSH SHE for Construction Site Managers. However, as the name implies, we recommend that Construction Site Managers take the course, as the knowledge and understanding provided will directly benefit their role.
