The NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation course is designed to enable learners to carry out accident investigations, produce risk control plans and contribute to team accident/incident investigations for large-scale investigations. It is aimed at managers, supervisors, HSE champions, union representatives and aspiring health and safety practitioners.

Incident and accident investigation training is vital in helping any business deal with unexpected events to reduce their consequences. An effective investigation requires methodical, structured approach to information gathering, collation and analysis.

The NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation course has been developed jointly between NEBOSH and the HSE (Health and Safety Executive UK). The course will teach you how non-complex incidents can be investigated effectively as well as provide good incident investigation techniques.

Course module

Introduction to Incident InvestigationThis sole unit covers the entire course and provides essential knowledge and techniques to successfully investigate incidents in your workplace, making it safer for your company.

Examination:

You will undertake a practical assessment; this is completed at the end of the course. You will be provided with a pack of evidence including three witness interview videos. You will be asked to review the evidence, evaluate each interview, and produce an action plan that will help prevent a recurrence of an incident.

Entry requirements: NEBOSH recommend a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System score of 5.0 or higher in IELTS tests.
