Please note: This online course is hosted on the NEBOSH Learning Management System. Learners will receive their joining instructions within 10 working days after being registered with NEBOSH. 
Following the successful enrolment, learners are granted 3 months of course material access.

This qualification is initially available via online only, which means you can complete your studies at a time, place and pace convenient to you. The online course provides a comprehensive overview of risk.

When you have completed the qualification, you will be able to understand the principles of risk and risk management, source the risk information required for your risk management process, understand the psychology, apply risk management principles, learn risk management process and the risk management framework based on ISO 31000, as well understanding how to integrate the risk management framework into your organisation.

The course comprises three elements that will cover pivotal areas such as the Principles of Risk Management, the Risk Management Process and the Risk Management Framework. 

Effective risk management helps ensure better decisions are made that will protect people, organisations, and reputations. In this certificate-level qualification, NEBOSH and IIRSM have combined their expertise in education and risk to deliver a qualification that can help you achieve this. 

Upon successful completion of the NEBOSH IIRSM Certificate in Managing Risk, non-IIRSM members can apply for IIRSM membership and receive a 25% discount off the first years' membership.

Course Duration:  36 hours

Course Modules:

Element 1: Principles of Risk and Risk Management

This unit provides an in depth look into the principles of risk and risk management and on completion will enable you to source and challenge the validity of risk information, as well as gaining an understanding of the impact of psychology on decision making.

Element 2: The Risk Management Process

This unit will allow you to apply the risk management process in everyday life scenarios. Through different practical models you will learn to identify potential risks surrounding organizations, apply various risk treatment strategies and better understand the purpose and features of continuously monitoring and reviewing risks and its importance.

Element 3: The Risk Management Framework 

This final unit is targeted to your organisation, by teaching you on how to integrate the risk management framework into your business. You will learn the key features of systems such as the Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Crisis Management (CM) and their relationship with organisational risk management and resilience.

Examination:

This course is assessed with a multiple choice test, consisting of both single response (select one answer) and multiple response (where you select more than one answer) questions. There are 20 questions in total which are chosen randomly from a set bank of questions, at the time you take the test. You can take the exam online whenever you are ready.

How do I get access to the course?

When we register you with NEBOSH, you will receive an email with your username and password and a link to the NEBOSH's own online learning platform to access your course. Your login details should arrive within 10 working days of purchasing the course.

How many attempts do i get at the exam?

Two attempts at the assessment are included in your course fee. Please note - when you press the 'Enter' button this will count as an attempt even if you abort it. It is very important that you only click this button when you are ready, so you do not waste an attempt at the assessment. If you are referred on the second attempt, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

If you were to fail both attempts, a NEBOSH fee of £275+VAT is payable to re-sit the test. This includes another 3 months access to your course.
